Trivia:
The original name for Davonte Roscoe Jankins III, the overly stereotypical black character portrayed by Xavier Flores began with “Nigga Jankins” in the original improvisational footage the Barton Police series became based on. In Episode 2, his name appears in the credits as “Shabooty Jankins.” Finally, the cast and crew mutually settled upon Davonte Roscoe Jankins III, seeking a name that was less controversial but still humorous and stereotypical.
During the scene where Davonte is complaining to Preston Leebo and a fight nearly breaks out between him and AJ Jenkins, Bill O’Hara and Alex Ramirez portions were filmed separately. Xavier Flores is playing both Alex Ramirez and Davonte in the same scene.
At the end of the episode, Davonte appears with his long bearded sidekick, Leonard Biggs, a character portrayed by Chester Smith. Chester plays both Bob Riley and Leonard Biggs in the same scene.
The visual effects used at the end of the scene for the gunfight were premade muzzle flashes in Action Essentials 2 created by Andrew Kramer and his team at Video Copilot.
At the time of this episodes’ release, it is the video that has the longest running time of any product released publicly by Barton Ct. Productions Inc.
While numerous portions of episode 3 were filmed multiple times, a scene with AJ Jenkins and Bob Riley talking to Leebo in his office shows two different sets of takes and camera angles that were filmed a year apart. The scene starts at 6:32 into the episode.
